“Kaizen” at Japanese Electronics Group

POD assisted in launching their global management programme in Europe, meeting the development needs of junior and middle managers in the region and integrating European methods and attitudes with the Japanese culture and management approaches. POD has now been running quarterly pan-European workshops in ‘Role of the Manager’ and ‘Cross-cultural Awareness’ in the UK and in Eastern Europe. These are followed by “kaizen” meetings with the client.

POD’s contribution over the years has led to its status evolving from ‘training provider’ of management skills to ‘learning and development partner’ embracing wider training needs, such as Project Management.

The client’s Japan HQ is now using POD for training their European expatriates. POD’s use of globally experienced local associates makes the delivery of cross-cultural communication exercises highly relevant. The programme is beneficial for both individuals and the organisation which need to manage careers as well as the hidden costs of failed overseas assignments.
