Improving the skills of the individual

The success of businesses depends on people who possess the skills that make them effective planners, communicators, negotiators and influencers. These skills enable people to interact with each other in the workplace more smoothly, work with more confidence and connect with customers, partners and colleagues more profitably. We base our Business Skills sessions on situations from participants’ own experience as well as on case studies. When they leave a POD Business Skills workshop participants will have gained insight into their current performance, created action plans for their personal development and enjoyed a lively, interactive and 100% useful day. This day is then followed up with individual coaching sessions to ensure that the action plans are implemented and the learning is transferred to the workplace.

 

Pod ran an individual coaching session to sharpen up the structure and delivery of a presentation for a project launch to press, client and user groups. As a result I was more confident, the message was clearer, and the audience's reception was more positive. Grimshaw has made this a regular part of preparing for important business pitches or presentations.

Flexible Training

Many of our programmes are bespoke and some of the more unusual requests that we have been happy to accommodate are:

  • Starting a programme at 06:00 and finishing by 15:00 for a sporting event
  • Running a team session on an aircraft on the way to a venue
  • Making live calls to customers as part of a sales programme

Online Training Support

  • In addition to global face-to-face delivery, we reinforce course benefits through our online learning management system which enables delegates to download relevant PODcasts, articles and case studies.
  • They can also communicate with the trainer and other participants online, as well as store their development action plans in one place, accessible wherever they may be.
  • The integrated course structure allows the onsite training sessions to focus more specifically on face-to-face work aimed at practising skills and changing attitudes.
